mhbounds - Sensitivity Analysis for Average Treatment Effects

چکیده
mhbounds – Sensitivity Analysis for Average Treatment Effects Matching has become a popular approach to estimate average treatment effects. It is based on the conditional independence or unconfoundedness assumption. Checking the sensitivity of the estimated results with respect to deviations from this identifying assumption has become an increasingly important topic in the applied evaluation literature. If there are unobserved variables which affect assignment into treatment and the outcome variable simultaneously, a hidden bias might arise to which matching estimators are not robust. We address this problem with the bounding approach proposed by Rosenbaum (2002), where mhbounds allows the researcher to determine how strongly an unmeasured variable must influence the selection process in order to undermine the implications of the matching analysis. متن کاملNonlinear sensitivity Analysis of RCMRF Considering Both Axial and Flexure Effects (RESEARCH NOTE)
Sensitivity analysis of structures considering their nonlinear behavior has recently been an important process in optimal design of them based on new design concepts such as Performance-Based Design (PBD). The main objective of this research is to develop an efficient and applicable method for nonlinear sensitivity analysis of Reinforcement Concrete Moment Resisting Frames (RCMRF) accou...
متن کاملStudentized sensitivity analysis for the sample average treatment effect in paired observational studies
A fundamental limitation of causal inference in observational studies is that perceived evidence for an effect might instead be explained by factors not accounted for in the primary analysis. Methods for assessing the sensitivity of a study’s conclusions to unmeasured confounding have been established under the assumption that the treatment effect is constant across all individuals. In the pote...
متن کاملDesign, Identification, and Sensitivity Analysis for Patient Preference Trials*
Social and medical scientists are often concerned that the external validity of experimental results may be compromised because of heterogeneous treatment effects. If a treatment has different effects on those who would choose to take it and those who would not, the average treatment effect estimated in a standard randomized controlled trial (RCT) may give a misleading picture of its overall im...
متن کاملEffects of Methadone Maintenance Treatment on Decision-Making Processes in Heroin-Abusers: A Cognitive Modeling Analysis
A B S T R A C TIntroduction: Although decision-making processes have become a principal target of study among addiction researchers, few researches are published according to effects of different treatment methods on the cognitive processes underlying decision making up to now. Utilizing cognitive modeling method, in this paper we examine the effects of Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) on ...
